Lego Ninjago Fire Temple
LEGO Ninjago Fire Temple is an example of a well thought out
construction toy that we always expect from Lego - and it does
not disappoint. Once built up, the temple splits in two,
allowing a fearsome fire dragon to emerge and protect it.
Constructing the set is plenty of fun - not too difficult, but
not so easy that you (or your child) fall asleep. Even though
there are 1174 pieces - a pretty large set, this one seemed sort
of “natural” to build - I spent less time looking at the
instructions then when building the LEGO Space Shuttle
which only has about 230 pieces. Maybe I have been watching too
many of those Samurai movies and Japanese castles look familiar.

The set includes Sensei Wu, Kai, Zane and Nya mini-figures and
Lord Garmadon, Samukai, and Kruncha figures. Plenty of weapons,
including Scythe of Quakes, Nunchucks of Lightning, Shurikens of
Ice, Dragon Sword of Fire, 3 golden swords, 2 silver swords, 3
black swords, 1 spear, 1 thunder bolt, 1 bone axe, 1 staff and 2
daggers. Thus your ninjas will not be wanting to fighting
implements. The four brave ninjas stand against the evil Lord
Garmadon and his Skeleton Army.
As for the ultimate weapon, if the battle is going badly, the
castle can split in tow, to release the Fire Dragon, with its
spitting fire-ball action and huge wings. Between the blinding
wind generated by the wings, and the fire-balls, the enemies
stand no chance. Naturally, the Dragon with such huge wings can
fly, providing absolute air supremacy for the defenders of the
Fire Temple. The Fire Dragon can rotate its neck to take aim and
shoot fireballs to stop Lord Garmadon and his minions in his
tracks. The easy loading system lets defenders quickly fire
again and again if under attack.
But as always, the real fun of the Lego Ninja Fire Temple set is
constructing and re-constructing the Fire Temple and inventing
different battle scenarios. Parents can participate in the
construction, and often will be called upon to witness
improvements and changes to the original Temple design - this
continuous creativity is what makes Lego blocks such great fun
for the whole family.
